From its beginnings, Gotham Baseball has always prided itself on trying to infuse its traditional media roots with New Media ideas. That effort began with covering the 2005 Baseball Winter Meetings in Dallas, TX, with daily podcasts from the venue. Since then,  Gotham Baseball has always tried to provide its audience with quality programming in a variety of ways.

“Live from Mickey Mantle’s” was another Gotham Baseball project, the first weekly sports podcast on BlogTalkRadio.com to emanate from a live venue.  Though from time to time the hosts interviewed sports legends from other sports, baseball was the talk of the town at the old Mickey Mantle’s.

“Gotham Baseball LIVE” is the longest-running podcast of its kind, and though it has had different co-hosts over the years, Mark Healey, the Executive Editor and Founder of Gotham Baseball, has remained the constant. For the 2026 season, “Gotham Baseball LIVE” is back, featuring a new co-host, Peter Schwartz.
